Quite predictably, la nostra principessa, no doubt prompted from behind the scenes, has quickly and predictably tried to discredit Francesco Angelini in a press statement of her own. The accusation that he is merely trying to destabilise the club was quickly followed by the question, does he or doesn't he want to buy Roma, and if he does then why has he already shown he has no concrete intentions of doing so...

She rounds her counter attack off by wondering why he goes to a daily sport paper to make his point instead of contacting her.

So Rosella comes out today saying that Angelini never showed real intentions to buy Roma. Unicredit saying they had set meetings with him but he never answered them back. Unicredit wants to get out of football so why in the hell are they sponsoring the Champions League?

Look at the businessmen in Rome, you got Angelini, Caltagirone vrothers, Toti brothers, why can't they start a conglomerate, chip in some money and take Roma off Rosella's hands? They are businessmen who got a winning mentality, who wants to best for Roma.

Rome, the Eternal city, with a club that goes backwards. Seems like a Roman empire who is crumbed and defeated. Why not build it up again with people from Rome. This situation is laughable we are in now.

Why are people more inclined to believe Angelini than Rosella? Her reply has been very clear: he is not really interested.

It's worth a mention that Unicredit has unofficially dismissed Angelini's intentions of being genuine. Which to me reads as a gesture they don't consider Angelini and his methods worth a serious response. For our sakes I hope this is not turning into another Fioranelli comic opera.





What does seem to be becoming clearer is that at least for now la Sensi still has enough of the Old Man's power to make the difference that matters.

Rosella's not given us all that much cause to trust her in the past, Giacomo, and Angelini's comments in and of themselves seem so deeply plausible.

In relation to your response to glad above, I don't think it's a question of living in an utopia - I think it's pretty clear how those sorts of decisions could make sense - they may feel they have a much better chance of recouping all their money if they give the Sensis a little more leash at this stage. If the club is making enough money to keep up with an interest payment here and there, then it's easy to see how that's better than writing off the 100 mil, as glad sketches it. They may also have a hand in the apparent business strategy of reducing the wages the club pays - perhaps as another way of making it more profitable, such profit going into paying off the debts.

Why would we not trust Rosella to be truthful from her past behaviour?

The second point cannot be valid because no money passes from Roma to Italpetroli, not that it would not be feasilbe to rely on Roma to repay Italpetroli's debt anyway.

That is well done Stefano. Rosella was exposed over the Soros matter by both Tacopina and Soros himself. She never admitted that an offer was even made by Soros. After a series of articles of interviews with Joe Tacopina and George Soros, she continued to deny that an offer was made. Tacopina exposed Pippo Marra as the man who sent a series of fraudulent emails indicating that there were other suitors for Roma. In particular, the Arab interest wherein an offer of 400 million euro was to be made. When Tacopina revealed this in an interview, Rosella's response was "I don't like him"..and then denied that there was any serious interest. I guess 283 million is not serious enough for the princess, a figure both Soros and Tacopina said was proffered. Pretty fucking mature don't you think? Then a joint press release from Tacopina and TAG partners called Rosella Sensi a liar.

In her most recent interview....'A disgrace worthy only of Rosella Sensi, a contrived press conference behind closed doors, at her family's Hotel, and by invitation only that is not aired on the radio or television(can somebody say Roma Channel). Only Rosella Sensi is capable of this type of a farce. She stated:

-De Rossi is not for sale, Roma is not selling off pieces of the team just for the sake of raising money;


-She said they listened to Fioranelli but never came close to selling to him because it was not a serious offer;

- She denied Soros ever being interested in AS Roma;

- She is not feeding off of Roma, she works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on Roma business, rarely gets to see her family and justified the 1.25 million euro salary she pays herself;

- She found an area to build a stadium on, it's not an area of land owned by the Sensi family;

- On the 5th of May her family entered into a contract requiring them negotiate with anyone that is interested in purchasing AS Roma.

Angelini gave an interview in yesterday's Corriere Dello Sport. expressing his continued interest in Roma, but Rosella Sensi is blocking the sale.


- He claims to have spoken to people involved in the George Soros deal, and their experience made him lose respect for the Sensi family.

- He claims that if you want to buy AS Roma you are forced to do it without examining any of their books. I commented on this yesterday;

- Based on what little information was gathered he would have offered the Sensi family 130 million, plus money to buy the public shares for a total of 220 million to take full ownership of the club;

- He would delist Roma from the stock market;

- He was interested in buying Roma with a partner, he approached UniCredit but he never received a response;

- He said that when talk of the supermanager was raised he made himself available for negotiations, although he is still waiting for the supermanager to be named;

- He was asked if he was aware that Fioranelli was prepared to purchase Roma without a complete financial examination. He said he was not aware of it but that it would be suicide to do such a thing.

- If the attitude changes then he is ready to make a serious offer for Roma.

So, should we believe serious businessmen like Soros and Angelini who own and operate successful multi-billion euro/dollar companies, or do we believe a mindless, immature twit who never had a real job in her life and lives off of an inheritance?

giacomo - it's not a matter of living in utopia or not.

the club is considered the collateral by which the sensi's were able to get loans out of unicredit. they are two seperate ventures but one (the club) is the family's 'equity' and is the security which affords them to get loans to cover italpetroli. when you cannot pay back a loan to the your lender, the lender has the right and ability to act on the security that was put forward against the loan in the way they see fit. it would clearly be in the bank's best interest to recover as much of the debt as possible whether through a sale or, as maro suggests, through some sort of restructuring of the club (financially) to give the sensi's the ability to make payments on that debt or, further, make the enterprise more fiscally profitable (and, in turn, more attractive to potential buyers).

also, like any lender, they would likely rather you keep a loan ongoing and continue paying interest on it (since that is how lending agencies make their money) provided that the collateral or security put forward doesnt devalue too much and leave the bank exposed and unable to recoup most of their money. the auto-finacing of the club, as i understood it, was imposed by the bank specifically to enable the sensi's to make payments on the loan from a predefined, guaranteed profit yielded by a.s. roma. that said, if the bank sees that they can still milk profit out of the club to continue to pay debt, and at the same time help increase the value of the club for an eventual sale, then this scenario that we are currently witnessing will likely continue on until the bank feels it is too risky because the value of that asset (the club) has diminish substantially and unable to recover most of their money. in the meantime, if a 'lucrative' offer were to come in (especially if it could cover a substantial amount of the debt), i am pretty sure that the bank would jump at it and force sensi's hand.
