Guys, I have to keep insisting my opinion that we could do with a better goalkeeping alternative to Curci (I won't even comment on Artur!) who though I'll concede is a reasonable shot stopper, just does not command his area...I've seen him make the same mistakes with Siena (sorry, 'Moldo) with not being decisive on crosses and misjudging when to come for a ball...

I'd have liked Okaka get more of a chance with us rather than see him loaned out just yet...just to know whether he really has what it takes or to coin a phrase, flatters to deceive! Alessio Cerci, perhaps he was too much in Castillo's shadow as much as anything else in terms of goal scoring...

Mediaset aren't giving us good reading at the moment. Baptista is highly doubtful for the Milan match with an inflamed tendon, and Menez is likewise doubtful. Taddei and Pizarro are having physiotherapy in an effort to get them fit. Aquilani is still out of ther picture...Brighi is however a positive!

I hope this is just a piece of January press nonsense, a possible immediate 6 month loan involving Crespo...I'd have welcomed him with open arms a year and a half ago but now he is overweight and ring rusty!

Finally, it looks like the Podolski thing was over before it began for us!

Carlo, while Curci might be shaky on his crosses and command (things for him to continue to develop hopefully), he's only conceded 18 goals for Siena this season (they've scored a meagre 13) and they're not what I would call a top notch defending team. I will be honest when I say that I have not watched him play, but from what I have read and the stats, looks like he's progressing ok. Does that mean I want him here? No. I do not think I can comment about Artur since we haven't seen him play much and that's what terrifies us. Hence why I was/am pro-getting a veteran backup.

That's a worrying injury list, though nothing we are not used to. If this is the case (assuming no Totti, Baptista, Menez, but that Pizarro and Taddei make it) we had better defend strongly against Milan and hope for some Mirko magic. Pity about Podolski though.

Roma captain Francesco Totti has proposed a transfer limit for Serie A.

Francesco Totti knows it will no easy task to catch Inter and spoke about Jose Mourinho's side on Monday.

Interesting idea FT.........but it would be tough to implement....does he mean a limit on the number of purchases or the amount of money a team spends.....either way it's overly optimistic to suggest that anything like a transfer cap can be implemented in calcio.

Shield & 'Moldo, I prefer Rai as a source, but generally Mediaset is dependable enough...I don't remember the exact wording of the Mediaset text on Podolski over the past few days on the Roma page and like Sod's Law, now that I could use the reference, it has been withdrawn...the heading was "Podolski, niente da fare," and briefly outlined his alternatives, much as 'Moldo states. Nothing to make of the situation, it's not going to happen as far as we are concerned...

Pocari, on Panucci's contract renewal, Fabio Parisi his agent has said today, again according to Mediaset that the affair is likely to take 3 or 4 months to resolve from June when the present deal expires.

Carlo, I think what I read were comments from his agent saying that it would have been better had the contract been sorted out three or four months ago when the situation was a bit less fraught. Your Italian, I'm sure, is better than mine so I may have misunderstood, though that would certainly make more sense. I was anticipating the Avvocato's or someone else's pointing out that this was another illustration of the amateurishness of the club's management.
