A belated Happy New Year to one and all!

Professore, reading your post on a Christmas holiday season barbie on the beach, I have to say I envy those who live in Australia or New Zealand at this time of year, the British climate's no damn fun at all! Hell, it doesn't get so much better during the 2 weeks in July we call summer!

But to our beloved magica Roma...I'm sure we've all seen the recent talk of being after Quagliarella. As I've said before, if we're going to take anyone from Udinese I'd much prefer Di Natale and indeed with the summer rumours of both he and Iaquinta, that could have set us up nicely for this season had they happened.

I didn't really appreciate either reading La mamma Maria Sensi's comments on Mediaset earlier this week where she reckons Roma merited the scudetto more than Inter at the end of last season. Maybe I'm just too typical of many Italians when I tend to look at myself to apportion blame before casting aspertions on others, in this case my favoured team's failings as opposed to Inter's alleged last gasp luck but wasn't there just too much of a sour grapes attitude coming from the Old Man's widow rather than constructive sense?

Then again maybe I need another Brandy & Strega cocktail to sweeten my disposition...

Pocari, doesn't sound bad at all...

Grasso, I tried to get dual citizenship and the Indians kind of allow it for investment and business purposes (a nice extended visa) but the bastards won't let you get a passport or vote (not that I care about the latter in India too much, they are all corrupt bastards). So I saw no point in it. According to wikipedia, there's an actual Indian hockey team...

I do know that "professional" ice hockey is played in China, at least in the northern city of Harbin (near Siberia) and that the standard is that of NCAA division III apparently, which isn't terrible to say the least. I know I'm nowhere near that level, but it would be fun to watch.

Carlo, I understand your displeasure at Madame Sensi's words. I'd be pissed too. While Inter got a lot of breaks, let's face it, we had our chances and did not take them last year. c'est la vie.
