So what exactly is involved in the deal to sign Destro, can anyone confirm? Have Genoa bought out Siena's half, and so then we were dealing purely with Genoa?

And its a loan with a buy-out clause of €7m, and both Verre and Piscitella on co-ownership deals. Is that right?

Yeh, no specifics on what these bonuses are, but all in all its a fairly big fee for a 20-year-old, and the pressure will be on him to deliver. Initially I though the fee was small enough and Genoa were doing us a favour, but when you consider its over €16m in cash plus co-ownership of Verre and Piscitella (for which Genoa will likely receive more cash for us to bring them back), its quite a lot. And do we have an the option not to sign him outright at the end of the season, I wonder, or is it set in stone?

Interesting stuff. I agree Lamela looked awful and that you should keep DDR in front of the offense. Truth be told under Zeman and in a vacuum you'd sell DDR. (Before anyone keels over I'm not advocating that.)

I agree he's in Pirlo's league although they are different players.

If his name were Daniel Ross from Birmingham and he had 40 games in the shirt but City wanted him for 35 mill quid I'd think the money would be well spent on other positions.

With that said, I would be devastated.

Were he from Birmingham, his name Daniel Ross, and had he just 40 games in the shirt, he'd still be one of the best holding midfielders in the world and unable to be replaced for 35 mil - in my opinion. 35 mil is about the going price for him, regardless of all the symbolic baggage. Were they offering 60 mil for Daniel Ross, I'd take it. He's one of those world-class players around whom a team can be built.

If he's the right sided MFer in this setup I don't think he's all that great a fit.

It doesn't diminish how highly I rate DDR or my emotional attachment to him. Only that our Daniel Ross is 29 and 35-40 mill could be used to gain an exceptional young talent and 2 solid starting players.

I would play him at the bottom of the three; if he doesn't play there, he needs just the perfect mix of players to play alongside him and complement him - a technical and mobile regista and a mobile, attacking mezz'ala. Either way he's the conceptual axis of the midfield.

(Corriere dello Sport - A.Ghiacci) L’ufficialità è arrivata dal sito internet del club greco. E non è un gioco di parole: Greco è un ex giocatore della Roma, va in Grecia, il centrocampista ha firmato un triennale con l’Olympiakos.

«Sono lieto di essere arrivato qui - ha detto il mancino, cresciuto a Trigoria - un grande club, non solo per la Grecia ma anche in Europa e, naturalmente, mi riempie di felicità. Darò il cento per cento per aiutare la squadra a raggiungere i suoi obiettivi».

Greco si aggiunge alla lista di coloro che la Roma ha ceduto perché non rientravano più nei piani. Una lista iniziata con i brasiliani Juan e Simplicio, con i quali è stata trovata l’intesa per la rescissione, passata poi per le scadenze di Cassetti e Cicinho, che finirà con Guberti, Borriello, Okaka e Pizarro (il regista ha già fatto sapere che a gennaio è pronto a tornare in Cile). «Mi dispiace lasciare la Roma - ha detto ancora Greco - ma quando mi è stato detto che ero in vendita ho cercato una sistemazione che mi desse soddisfazione e all’Olympiakos avrò la possibilità di giocare la Champions».

Mirko Pigliacelli, ex portiere della Primavera giallorossa, accasatosi recentemente al Parma, ha parlato direttamente dal ritiro di Levico dei ducali. Queste le sue dichiarazioni: "Quest'anno sto affrontando una nuova esperienza, dopo 8 anni di Roma era difficile cambiare ma dopo l'ultimo anno di Primavera non sentivo la fiducia da parte della società e ho deciso di cambiare. Ho subito sentito la voglia da parte della dirigenza di puntare su di me ed è stato facile scegliere il Parma".
