I am afraid I am going to have to expose all of you for the frauds and hypocrites you guys really are. Ever since I joined these forums, all I have been hearing is the "Juventus Marketing Machine", "Roma have more substance because Juve is a business, not a club" and the usual "players benefit from Juve's marketing". NOW, although Juve do market their brand/product (which the NFL does, MLB, other successful clubs do, etc to generate money and sign players), what is the difference if Roma were to sell to foreign owners and become a club like Chelsea?? Juve are doing it right by generating money coming from the abyss of Serie B AND staying "Italian". I just think you guys sound funny and very hypocritical calling the for selling of the club when in the past you have all been critics of how Juve generate money. Players and the team are a product, not a toy or personal item. That is the reality of today's sports. Unfortunately the current Roman management do not realize that while other big clubs caught on to that concept 2 decades ago. Just would like to hear some thoughts and feedback.

Dino, you need to work on your reading comprehension a little, I think. I'd be interested to know if any who've given you stick for being a synthetic Rube fan have advocated the selling of the club to foreign owners. I can certainly think of a fair few here who obviously shudder at the prospect. The argument that someone like Italiamia will put to you is that it'd be nice for the club not to be owned by someone who is turning its profits to pay off her own debts. That one might wish for the club to stop being bled is rather closer to a plea that the club retain its soul rather than that it should sell it.

It would be nice for Roma to do so but it would be nicer if Roma is sold to an owner like Abramovic who spends wrecklessly and forms a competitive squad, according to many of the posters here. It becomes hypocrisy when those same people who are strong advocates of that idea criticize Juve's management for some made up "marketing machine".

Dino, I understand your argument. I just think you'll find that few of those who've criticised you for being a product of the Rube "marketing machine" are now willing that the club should be "sold to an owner like Abramovic who spends wrecklessly." It's only hypocrisy if one voices both views. I should be interested to see if you can point to anyone who has done so.

There isn't, after all, much of a contradiction inherent in the fact that 'tec supports Milan while Cajun supports Inter, I shouldn't have thought. They are, after all, so far as I can tell, different people.
