He'd certainly be capable of playing in that mezz'ala role and it would be great to see him get a chance and be part of the squad, but as well as he's done, I'm not sure if he's quite ready to be a permanent fixture for us. He could be like Greco. I would loan him out again for another season or two. I think Florenzi is the one who can step up and make it in that mezz'ala role. He's having a great season with Crotone and has something like 12 goals from midfield.

Didn't see our game yet, but the result was certainly disappointing.

No surprises on this but kind of shocking to read and agree that their are like 4-5 players on the entire roster that have no question marks.

(di Alessio Nardo) Sono tanti. Tristi e malinconici. Di che parliamo? Dei record negativi della Roma di Luis Enrique. Una sfilza di numeri impietosi che spiegano la mediocrità dell'intera stagione.

Snocciolarli in serie fa male, ma è cronaca: l'eliminazione dall'Europa ad agosto, l'unico punto concesso all'Inter di Gasperini, i tre espulsi di Firenze (cosa mai accaduta in 85 anni di storia), i due derby persi (non accadeva dal 1997-1998), la sconfitta casalinga col Milan dopo sei anni, quella con la Fiorentina dopo venti, quella col Cagliari dopo quarantatre, il primo ko assoluto a Lecce, il minor numero di punti e il maggior numero di sconfitte dalla disastrosa annata 2004-2005, dei quattro allenatori.

Per chiudere in bellezza mancava solo un ultimo record. Che aritmetico e puntuale è arrivato, persino con una giornata d'anticipo: la mancata qualificazione alle coppe europee. Un fallimento che non si concretizzava da quindici stagioni. Ovvero, dal campionato 1996-1997, iniziato con Carlos Bianchi in panchina e chiuso col tandem Liedholm-Sella. Da allora, Roma aveva sempre staccato il biglietto per l'Europa, qualificandosi sette volte per la Champions League, cinque volte per la Coppa Uefa (in due occasioni attraverso la finale di Coppa Italia) e due volte per l'Europa League.

Resta ancora una piccola possibilità, legata ai deferimenti del procuratore federale Stefano Palazzi relativi alla vicenda del calcioscommesse (che potrebbero escludere la Lazio dall'Europa). Ma bisognerà almeno proteggere il settimo posto dall'assalto del Parma. Dunque, vincere a Cesena è un obbligo. Per continuare a sperare.

Van der Wiel: There's no concrete interest as of yet

Van der Wiel agreed personal terms with Valencia about a summer move earlier this season, but talks between both clubs have since broken down, while Roma are also believed to be keen on the defender.

However, the Ajax star has stressed he is not away of any potential interest at this moment in time.

"Not a single club has shown a concrete interest in signing me so far, so I don't know where I will play next season," Van der Wiel told Goal.com.

"I have not said farewell to the club yet, and neither has Jan [Vertonghen]. We had agreed not to do so with the players whose future is still undecided."

The right-back recently returned to full match fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and is eagerly anticipating Euro 2012.

"I have a week off now and will then turn my focus to Euro 2012. I am really looking forward to it, especially to joining the other lads again. It's been a while for me. I only just got back from injury and I'm fully match fit again."
