Roma boss Luciano Spalletti believes the return of Francesco Totti will inspire the Giallorossi to escape their current crisis. Last year's runners-up have suffered a dismal start to the season and find themselves trapped in the bottom half of the table. The capital club have looked short of ideas and confidence without captain Totti but Er Pupone could return for the epic battle against Inter after the international break.

The international break is coming at a good time for us and gives Totti some much needed extra bit of time to try and recover for the big game next weekend. I think he should be available for Inter but won't be in any sort of shape to carry us to victory, although his presence and influence in the starting line-up is something which should spur everyone on. Lord knows we need every little boost we can get right now.

glad, maro, shiled, jam or anyone really who keeps an eye on the il romanista headlines... if you guys see anything about the roma udine games, tickets purchase-wise, then could you guys gimme a heads up...

im waiting on my visa for rome, so i dont think i'll be flying in time for the inter game, but shud be there from the roma udine away game all the way till the day after the chelsea at home game. The samp and Juve games should be fine, but im arriving in rome on the morning of the 25th.. and wanna buy the tickets so i could travel to udine asap.

Just wondering if anyone one saw the Bulgaria-Italy game. I have to say De Rossi looked to be the leader on the pitch. It was nice to see. Not much else to add. Cannavaro and Chiellini will be tough to get through with De Rossi in front of them. Don't understand why Cassano was not called up. Cassano is in fine form and is behaving very well. You have to play him when he is doing well. He would add so much to the side.

About Curci, I thought we had loaned him out to Siena. Were we dumb enough not to include the typcial clause in a loan agreement (at least from what I have seen in Italy and England) that he cannot play against the team that holds the rights to his contract? I think Newcastle (another bastion of fine football club management) did the same thing with Lomano Lua Lua a few years ago and the guy went on to score the winning or equalizing goal against them for Portsmouth (I think) in the dying minutes of the match.

Good to see you back Jamil. Its been very quiet here as of late with a lot of the regulars gone MIA, it seems, and not just during the international break. The Roma forum has usually been the main hub of activity of the entire forum but a lot of us aren't posting much at all, and in fact even the new Fiorentina forum is busier these days, and we're coming under pressure from all the Chievo fans to replace the Roma forum with a Chievo one, which I may have to do due to lack of activity. What's the story lads, what say ye...?

With Curci, we didn't loan him to Siena but sold him to them on a co-ownership basis (see ). Actually, as you might expect, its a bit confusing, as I think what we actually done was sell him outright for Ã¢â€šÂ¬3.5m and then bought 50% of his contract back for Ã¢â€šÂ¬1.75 to be paid in three annual installments (or else it means we have an option to buy 50% back at the end of the season). Don't ask me why we would do it that way, this is Roma so lord knows we can't do things simple, but in the end he is co-owned by both clubs.

Any updates on De Rossi's injury? Is he likely to play Italy's next game? If he comes back crocked from international duty and unable to play against Inter someone will pay.

Well, depending on whether or not Juan and Doni make it back in time and whether or not Pizza, DDR, Vooch, Baptista, Taddei, Perrotta, Menez, and Okaka are fit, I reckon it could be something like this:
