well if you are putting them in third in la Liga you have to beat either barcelona, real madrid, athletic club etc. to get there.

As for the EPL well they are totally devoid of technical player and you see how badly they cope against the Portugese , Spanish clubs

I think the empirical data points more to LaLiga frankly. Napoli has lost multiple games this year to inferior opponents. We battered Inter. We looked the equal of our top 2 (who are no Barca and Rm) in maybe one of 5 run ins this year and most telling I think, Spanish teams have done better than us in Europe for years now and not just the duopololy.

I'm not suggesting that we couldn't get 3rd but it would not be a given.

La liga is better then serie a, period.
I advice you to go and look to every level of football being played., From CL, TO EL, TO World cups, to euro cups, to junior level cups like u 17 u 19 u 21.Its all dominated by spanish football, whereas italian football is showing nothing nowadays.By end of this year la liga should be number one in european coeficients.Its the era of spanish football.
Italian football on the other hand is dead. And we would be worse in la liga. Barcelona would win us 5 - 0 too, just like they do with Bilbao or A.madrid.

Atletico did demolish Lazio, 4-1 on Aggregate in the round of 32 of this years UEFA Cup. Atletico fans even had Roma scarves when they played in the Olimpico. But we all know Lazio are shite and not really deserving of 3rd or 4th or even 5th place. Lower than that. For what its worth, though, even though I don't really follow La Liga all that much, outside of Barca and Madrid I don't really think the league is all that competitive or strong, and aside from the top two not on a par with Serie A.

We play early Sunday morning right? I'll miss the game, I'm off to Prague in the morning for a stag party, won't be till late Sunday. Its only Novara, though, so three easy points, right...?!

A lot better going forward today, with five different scorers too. It hadn't hit me that we'd only scored one goal a game for the last seven games until the commentator pointed it out. Goals for Lamela and Bojan should help their confidence, hopefully. Need to beat Lecce away next and then we have Fiorentina at home, we've still lost far too many games so far this season.

Kjaer looked dodgy again I think, would have given a penalty away for a clumsy challenge had Jeda not been wrongly ruled offside, and was in no-man's land when Jeda had the chance to make it 2-2. Thankfully Simplicio scored straight after, great finish that.

Udinese are 0-0 at Siena at the mo, that isn't bad but it would be great if Siena could nick one.

Nice to see midfielders making runs beyond the ball (Marquinho and the young kid, Perrotta, who looks a tidy prospect). Not, of course, that Novara are especially good away from home. That DDR lad doesn't look a top-class centre-back to me. Perhaps LE should play him further forward?
