So, were we playing the weekend? I went on the tear last night and missed Sunday.

Anyone who comes to rome: do not go to Scholar's Lounge. I was attacked by some Laziale, got in a bit of a row, then the bar staff got in the way and kicked us (a bunch of roma fans and one lazio fan, who stood in the middle of it all trying to calm it down) all out, not because we were at fault, but because we were fewer and therefore had less to spend.

Three skinheads who punched my friend the laziale before me. They were enjoying the "Irish style". Then I told them I was the only Irish person in the bar, loafed one of them, kicked the other one and got kicked out. They're fucking pigs in that place anyway.

And no, Edzo, I wasn't locked. 50% sauced, maybe. a little rowdy, but not gargled. Just not willing to listen to some skinhead fascist cunt tell me to put my jumper back on. that's all. More to follow, because the laziale I was with is actually "connected" in that scummy crowd, and he wants to know who hit him. I see there's been a fair bit of trouble between the fans around the city (even more so than usual it seems), even some Spanish tourist who went to the game got stabbed in the arse by some scumbag laziale.

Ha, I've just been flicking channels and for my sins the Derby has just started on Setanta, the full match. Since I cant sleep i 'spose I'll watch it again.

Its certainly not a good record for LE. Its hard to lay too much blame on him for todays defeat given the early red card which clearly effected proceedings. Even playing with 10 men we were unlucky not to get something from the game. Defence is this system remains the problem, of course, and once again we were punished on the counter. I still can't quite understand how LE persists with this system when we clearly haven't got the players to do it. I'm all for trying new shit and being adventurous (careful now), but I also think that any manager worth his salt knows you play a system/formation which complements the players at your disposal, not the other way round.

Juan could be out for a couple of months I read, which is a bummer, he played really well yesterday I thought and loved his finger on lips gesture to that lot in the Curva Nord. I'm guessing it'll be Kjaer and Heinze at CB now.

About the game, it's not ideal that we had to play 80 odd minutes with 10 men, sure, but I was wondering had Klose gone round Stekelenburg and scored, how would we have responded to going 1-0 down after 7 minutes, even with 11 men? Especially after some of our recent performances. I guess we'll never know. So whilst it is, without doubt, a bit unfortunate for LE that in both derby games we've had 10 men for a significant amount of time, he can't use that as a case for defence about any questions asked of his work in general - recent performances at Cagliari, Siena and Atalanta are far more worrying from a performance perspective than yesterday's but this will be remembered as the season in which we lost both derbies and that isn't something that is going to be accepted by Roma fans, red cards or not!

I'd have also brought Bojan on a little bit earlier than the 75th minute, maybe in the 65th-70th minute period. Totti was coming so deep in order to try to get involved that it just left Borini on his own basically, we needed another striker on to try and get us on the front foot with a little more possession and opportunites to create chances earlier. We were always going to get a second wind towards the end but that only really came after Scaloni's red card and it was too little, too late by then unfortunately.

Collie, what's the general opinion with regards to LE in Rome? I'm guessing two derby defeats and recent poor displays means he isn't that popular.

Also, thank god there's no Laziale merda on this forum to rub it in....

Roma really are masterful at shooting themselves in the foot. The consistency with which they are able to give the ball away in dangerous positions is truly remarkable - and they had to be that incompetent to give a Lazio side with no pace the chance to counter-attack.

Collie, I'd have more sympathy for you if you hadn't been in a Irish bar. Still, I've never really understood the desire to pick a fight after a win. Do Lazio have such a shit mentality that they feel the need to make the most of ever win against Roma?

And I don't see how Juan could be considered to have had a good game. Misjudging the flight of the ball for Mauri's goal was an awful mistake.

Yeh I heard them noises when Diakete came on. Of course its not nice and is a problem with some Roma idiots as well, but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if that chanting came from the Laziale fans as well. That fact that he is their own player wouldn't stop these clowns.

Lazio have been fined a whopping €20,000 by Il Giudice Sportivo for the racist chants against Juan (and Diakete?) yesterday. That'll really show them. Roma have also been fined €7,000 for throwing rockets and firecrackers and shit onto the running track (although €2,000 of that was for a fat, demented, abusive Irishman with curly hair sitting in the Curva Sud who kept throwing his hot dog and burger wrappers on the pitch).

Jasus, so Juan is defo out for the rest of the season, knee ligament injury. That is quite a blow. So we're missing arguably our starting two centre-backs. Red, Juan did make a bad mistake for Mauri's goal, he should have stayed in line with the rest of the defence and by not doing so he had to clear the ball, but he still had a good game overall I thought and put in some great challenges (unlike Heinze, who just seems to go to ground for the sake of it). Without Juan now we're in big trouble, a combination of Heinze and Kjaer is just a complete disaster. DDR better get used to playing at the back, me thinks.
