From his first touch at the start of the season, when he almost scored, I've wanted to see Borini ahead of Osvaldo. Great to see him score like that, and super to see Lamela bang in a couple too. Also nice and unselfish from Totti with the second assist; I'm sure a lot of other players would have tried to go themselves.

In other news, Lopez signed for five years (and I know you've all been worrying about that). Also, Roma signed another manager. The new manager of marketing was formerly with Adidas Italia.

Romanews: Le pagelle

Stekelenburg 6,5. Sempre pronto e sicuro a prescindere dall’avversario e dalla competizione. Ormai una sicurezza e le sue uscite sono decisive. Se la cava egregiamente anche con i piedi.

Cicinho 5. L’ultima volta che ha giocato la Roma perse proprio con la Fiorentina. Si conferma il giocatore di sempre: positivo in fase di attacco, disastroso quando occorre difendere. Sarà stata una vetrina per cercare acquirenti?

Kjaer 5 (IL PEGGIORE). Lo avevamo lasciato infortunato sullo scatto di Totò Di Natale nel freddo del Friuli. Lo ritroviamo nel freddo dell’Olimpico alle prese con Jovetic. Il risultato è lo stesso e negativo. Se lo perde ogni volta che il talento viola parte e da la sensazione di essere un corpo estraneo alla squadra anche in possesso di palla dove si rifugia quasi sempre da Stekelenburg.

Heinze 6. Regge la difesa ma senza Juan va spesso e volentieri in difficoltà. I movimenti errati di Cicinho e Kjaer non lo mettono in condizione di giocare con serenità. In più l’assenza di De Rossi per lui si sente eccome.

Taddei 6. Contributo di quantità e qualità assicurato ma da l’idea di aver bisogno di rifiatare. Manca un pò di brillantezza e di incisività su una fascia dove Cassani non è un cliente facile da gestire ed affrontare. Parte a sinistra, termina a destra dove si trova sicuramente meglio.

Gago 6,5. Prova a guidare la squadra ma la manovra non è fluida come sempre. Fisicamente sta bene e la sua corsa lo dimostra. Ha l’alibi di giocare con due compagni di reparto con cui manca l’intesa necessaria. Cresce vistosamente nella ripresa dove si rende prezioso in qualche chiusura decisiva.

Greco 6. Partita in chiaroscuro con qualità e quantità a corrente alternata. Complice poco movimento delle punte, tiene troppo il pallone rischiando di perderlo, non facendo guadagnare spesso alla squadra campo e superiorità numerica.

Viviani 5,5. Le gambe ancora tremano ed è comprensibile alla sua età. L’Oilimpico fa sempre il suo effetto che produce un pò di timidezza iniziale. Cresce alla distanza con buone giocate e qualche conclusione verso la porta. Esce all’intervallo.

Totti 6. Poco ispirato, sbaglia qualche passaggio ed un’occasione facile da gol. Fisicamente sembra patire il doppio impegno ravvicinato e forse qualche motivazione differente rispetto al campionato. Si riscatta con l’assist per Lamela sul gol del vantaggio. Prestazione da comune mortale.

Lamela 7,5 (IL MIGLIORE). L’unico che sembra in grado di poter cambiar volto alla partita con le sue accelerazioni e giocate. Sbaglia qualche appoggio ma la classe, quella non manca mai. Segna una doppietta e regala qualche altra magia. Sempre più indispensabile per questa Roma. Talento puro.

Bojan 6. La grinta e la voglia di spaccare il mondo ci sono, come sempre ma spesso è inconludente. Grande il suo lavoro per dinamismo e sacrificio ma sotto porta siamo ancora ben lontani dal Bojan del Barcellona.

Perrotta 6,5. Entra con il piglio giusto, quello della vecchia guardia. Quantità che serviva a centrocampo per soffrire di meno la superiorità numerica del centrocampo a cinque della Fiorentina.

Borini 7. Seconda palla giocata è l’assist per Francesco Totti che manda in porta Lamela per il 2 a 0. Torna dopo Roma Milan, offrendo sempre tanta quantità in fase di non possesso. Subito dopo esagera e con un’accelerazione fenomenale si allarga e batte Neto. Elemento assai prezioso.

Josè Angel 6. Entra e fa il suo nonostante entri in un momento in cui la partita ha già dato il suo verdetto.

Luis Enrique 7. Dimostra non solo a parole ma anche a fatti di tenerci alla Coppa Italia e la formazione che manda in campo ne è la dimostrazione. La squadra va a memoria nonostante cambi quattro / cinque elementi rispetto all’ultima uscita casalinga contro il Chievo.

Good performance last night. We started a little sluggish and were fortunate they couldn't covert one of their chances, but we grew into it and looked quite convincing as the game went on. Always good to see our forwards score (even if, for Borini's goal, I thought Totti looked unhappy that the youngster didn't pass it to him when he was free in front of the goal and took the chance on himself). Our forwards also showed excellent work-rate and closing down for the entire game, exemplified by Totti working his socks off right to the end.

Viviani didn't have the best of games, as shown in them pagelle. He never really settled into it and couldn't really demand the ball as much as should have, partly due to Gago's prominence in getting on the ball. I thought Kjaer was ok, I certainly wouldn't be as harsh on him as the pagelle, and Jovetic is in such fine form and was a mile ahead of the rest of teammates and caused everyone trouble. Cicinho was poor, I thought, and I can't see a future for him in this team at all.

Perrotta done well when he came on, I agree, and his efforts were best summed up by when he sprinted a hopeless cause the whole back to our goalline – something which often goes unnoticed – to block a shot (was it by Cerci?) on the line.

Lol, i used to play with my friends, sometimes we played PremierShit, so i always played with Manchester City and used this dirty trick to sign De Rossi & Mexes, but then again i try to sell Roma all the players i want to sell just because i felt bad about signing De Rossi & Mexes from Roma .

Yeah, I think that was the last day of the season, and I remember it was also mayhem on the pitch after the game. I recall Simone saying that he hated playing at that stadio, as they had no control of the crowd and there were always a lot of people on the pitch after the game.
