Yes, Ed. I called his agent this morning. He sent me an sms asking who I was, when I presented myself he called back after an hour. I think being from Scandinavia helped He was very open and described the situation as it was.

He really was a super player, though. Had he not been so crippled by injuries, he'd be considered one of his generation's finest midfielders, in my opinion, and fully fit he'd be a perfect mezz'ala for LE because his game is all about triangles, give-and-go, movement. He's probably the best triangles player I've ever seen (in terms of movement - there are a few at Barca now who are pretty good at it too, especially in terms of technique). Of course now he hardly fits the age-parameters of the squad we're supposedly constructing; I really have always liked him as a player, though.

De Rossi is a hero for me, then again so were Cassano & Mexes so i wont even discuss loyalty anymore. Just that De Rossi was the person that seemed most committed to winning something with Roma at the beginning of last season, and you know he still wants to. I mean he would text Borriello to jump to Roma on that last transfer day, told him to come and win.

Didnt turn out that well though, we didnt win, he was benched and now he's transfer listed, and theres that haircut too.

I think De Rossi is fed up and wants to win something while he can, seeing as almost half the team he once knew were sold it might seem to him as a more foreign or alien Roma, till now i dont really feel if he even wants to be part of this project. You know romans, ill-tempered and he isnt the most patient person. Hell he has been patient for one hell of a long time. We need to stop counting on our players loyalty to have them stay committed, if administration will spend 17m on Osvaldo then fucking give De Rossi the wages he deserves. Seriously at least some part of Adriano, Doni or Baptista's wages can go to Danielle, he has earned them.

De Rossi is a hero and losing him would be devastating. He might not have been his best but when he is he is the arteries and veins of this team. He will always be El Capitano Futoro, and selling him can whimsically say we are selling our, erm, Futoro.
