La notizia, riportata oggi dalla "Gazzetta dello Sport", ha del clamoroso. Qualora Alberto Aquilani dovesse rinnovare il contratto che lo lega al club giallorosso (avendo contemporaneamente delle garanzie sull'impiego in campo), Simone Perrotta potrebbe accettare di trasferirsi all'estero. Sul Campione del Mondo ci sarebbe l'interesse di diversi club spagnoli e tedeschi. Qualche giorno fa Perrotta aveva dichiarato di voler chiudere la carriera in giallorosso.

Ok, just got the translation. I can't understand why Perrotta would do that though. I mean Aquilani doesn't play the same position as Perrotta.

That's basically what it's saying, Tuna - presumably because the implication is that many of Aquilani's minutes will come at the expense of Perrotta's. It looks like a load of tosh to me. If Simone leaves, it'll be because Spags thinks his value's peaked so we can still get a good price for him, while there are others around whom he wants to build the side. I don't see it, though - I'd bet Lomba's trailer that they're both at the club come October.

Well, the 'logic' is evidently that Aquilani would play instead of Simone rather than instead of Pizza or, indeed, instead of Mancini or Taddei.

Not much 'logic' in that Maro. And I'm sure you're one of the very few that would argue, just as I would, that Perrotta is what basically makes this current system work. I would be very surprised if he didn't understand that himself either. In then end I agree. its probably a load of crap coming from the media. We all know there isn't too much going on with our transfer campaign so far.
