We might sign Stekelenburg very late in the summer when Ajax realize that they won't get any offers for him from a club willing to pay his wages. The other possibility is that we buy him in the winter because Kameni is going to the ANC. By then Ajax might be out of Europe and Kameni could come back in a backup role (only playing EL and Coppa games). We paid so little for Kameni and we might end up paying very little for Stek that it could be worthwhile.

Simone Perrotta is very excited by Luis Enrique’s arrival at Roma. “You can tell there’s a new atmosphere and we’re learning a different style of football.”
The club has been revolutionised this summer with the departure of President Rosella Sensi and the take-over from American investor Thomas Di Benedetto.

“You can tell there’s a new atmosphere, as there has been a change of owner, directors and Coach,” said Perrotta.

“Having said that, the squad working here in pre-season is pretty much the same as in previous years, but everyone likes this new style of football.

“We’re following Luis Enrique’s orders with a sense of curiosity. He reminds me of Luciano Spalletti.

“The Coach wants us to keep possession of the ball a great deal, whereas in Italy we’re accustomed to seeking cross-field passes immediately to get it closer to the goal. The Coach has made it clear he does not want long balls.”

The new Giallorossi style aims to meld together Barcelona’s tactics with the Italian pragmatism, but it could take a while to develop.

“We are a work in progress,” continued 2006 World Cup winner Perrotta.

“I have never made predictions ahead of a season, especially this one, but we are Roma and certainly can’t battle to avoid relegation!

“I don’t know how much time it will take to assimilate Enrique’s new tactics, but I can say the team is right behind him.”

Heinze is a clown. Fuck him. Seriously, we have plenty of experience in our back-line, and we need to lower the average-age of our squad, not increase it by signing free-agents who are passed it.

Francesco Totti is intrigued by Roma Coach Luis Enrique. “The system and methods are new, interesting and above all very stimulating.”

The former Barcelona B manager hopes to bring the Spanish style of football to Serie A and began pre-season training this week.

“Here we are, finally in training to prepare as best we can for the next season,” wrote Totti on his official website.

“The sessions began in earnest today at Riscone di Brunico. The system and methods proposed by the Coach are new, interesting and above all very stimulating.

“We are only at the start: day by day we will discover new things and settle into this different reality.

“Everything depends on us and it’ll be our duty to put in the maximum effort right from now.”

Thinking of going over to Italy to catch a Roma match later on this year. I have a few questions if any kind soul has the time to answer

1) How do you go about getting tickets for games?

2) What's the easiest way to get to the stadium?

3) Could you recommend any decent, no frills hotels close to the subway?

Any responses would be much appreciated.
