Couldn't he just reject the contract offer? The buy back clause would only trigger an agreement with us, rather than personal terms with the player etc wouldn't it?

Except that if the deal as it currently stands is strictly a loan, then Bogan remains under contract with Barca (presumably we're just paying the wages of the contract he signed with them a year or two ago). Of course in practice the wishes of the player are likely to be pretty important, but contractually he would be obliged to go, I think.
