Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola made a surprise visit to Brescia’s training ground today after dinner with his former President. Guardiola spent some of his career in Serie A with Brescia and Roma between 2001 and 2003.
According to local media, the Spaniard was in Brescia last night for dinner with President Gino Corioni, director Gianluca Nani, Coach Beppe Iachini and the club staff.
This morning he stayed in the town and visited the training ground to meet with his former teammates, such as Andrea Caracciolo, Antonio Filippini and Matteo Sereni.
This is interesting to hear. He's one of the hottest properties around so good to see he wants to come to Italia:

Santos starlet Ganso is part of his own personal derby, as Milan and Inter try to sign him. “Sooner or later, I’ll play in Italy.” The Brazilian youngster is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market for this summer, particularly between the San Siro giants.
“One day I’d love to play in Serie A and I think sooner or later I will play in Italy,” Paulo Henrique Ganso told Sky Sport Italia.
“I have never met Leonardo, but we have spoken often on the phone. He gives me great advice and is a wonderful Coach. Having said that, I often talk to Milan defender Thiago Silva too.”
The actual Derby della Madonnina is on Saturday evening and Ganso was asked for his prediction. “I think it will end in a draw.”
The final round of Serie A games on Sunday will be split between 18.00 and 20.45 local time kick-offs. All 10 games were initially scheduled to start at 20.45, but they have now been separated into two groups.
The games concerning those teams fighting for the last Champions League and Europa League places will remain in their evening slots, but the other six ties will start earlier.
Udinese and Lazio are still squabbling over fourth, while Roma and Juventus are in contention to get the last Europa League place.
The GMB said the Italian former player, who was named manager on Friday, had previously voiced right wing views of which it strongly disapproved.
The union's local branch is believed to have paid up to £4,000 to the club this season as part of its sponsorship deal.
A GMB spokesman said: "Our local branch has decided to end its association with Swindon following the appointment of Paolo Di Canio.
"He has openly voiced support for Mussolini so it beggars belief that Swindon could have appointed him, especially given the multi-ethnic nature of the team and the town."
Di Canio is due to fly to the UK on Monday to complete the paperwork and be formally introduced as the new manager.
The club have been relegated after finishing bottom of League One.
A statement from Swindon said the club are confident he would build a team with the "passion, pride and professionalism" to ensure it could return to League One "at the earliest opportunity".
Interim chairman Jeremy Wray said in a statement: "I can't wait for Paolo to get here and get started."
Di Canio has spoken freely about being a fascist and an admirer of Mussolini.
He has faced bans and fines for making the fascist straight-arm salute while playing for Italian club Lazio.
In his autobiography he praised Mussolini as "basically a very principled, ethical individual".
so what do you guys think of sky italia being the main provider of calcio in italy, will this help the league to be more competitive and stronger, will it deliver the league some decent financial clout just look at the Premiershit since sky took over the TV rights when the league first started. Would like to hear your views and opinions on this topic
Is this a new thing or something that has changed or will change for the new season? Sky Italia has always been the main provider of calcio in Italy, and the biggest TV provider in general, no? They bought most of the rights to show calcio in a big deal a couple of years ago, didn't they, and also MediaSet and RAI bought some rights as well (although nowhere near as much), I believe.
TV money is one of the biggest earner for clubs these days, and so like it our not, big TV deals over rights play an important part in football finances. But the distribution of the TV money to the clubs remains a contentious issue in calcio, where its a system of the biggest clubs get more and the smaller clubs get less, something which needs to be changed to the Premiershit model where all clubs get a set equal and then more based upon a final league position.
That's exactly what I mean, sorry for not making my self a bit clearer, the tv rights in italy are now sold as a collective agreement after sky payed €1.149bn for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons much like the Premiershit model, and the revenue from this deal will be spread amongst the clubs equally, followed by final league position and then fan base, what I mean is will this new serie a help the teams in the future.
